That mix — field operations, geospatial practice, and custom software — is the point of the company. It keeps the work honest. It also keeps the cost of sophisticated tools in proportion to the problem they solve.
We work with private-sector clients and government audiences the same way: clear scope, practical delivery, and no theater.
Foundation
Earned before the company existed.
The practice behind Russell Tech comes from years of operational GIS in vegetation and land management, commercial drone work, and building the field-to-office pipelines that make those programs usable.
Devon Russell also teaches at Mitchell Technical College. That role stays separate from client work. The Energy Infrastructure Explorer was built as a working demonstration for students — what they can take into their own shop or into a company ready to use geospatial and AI tools.
Training is available when a project needs it. It is a supporting capability, not the identity of the firm. The company is here to deliver work — maps, flights, and applications — for clients who have a job to finish.

- Drone operations Commercial aerial production and mapping, including real estate development packages and corridor-style capture.
- Custom systems Applications built on open, durable tools so the client owns the capability instead of renting it.
